Give a dog a bone

Madam - A Rescue Dog

Madam – A Rescue Dog

Winter in Cape Town is cold, wet and windy. Spare a thought for all the animals out on the streets in this weather. Please donate some food or a blanket to your local animal rescue centre, or put a few coins in a collection tin at the shops.

Five of the six dogs I have adopted were found living on the streets. (The sixth, Little Monkey, was born in an animal organisation from a rescued pregnant dog.) Someone found these animals roaming the streets in a state of neglect (one had been hit by a car and had a broken leg) and took them to a rescue centre, where they were cared for until I adopted them.

If it were not for these places keeping the animals warm, fed and safe, there would be a lot more misery in the animal world. If you support them, they can rescue more homeless animals and maybe one day you will find your perfect companion there. As I did, six times over.

That’s a beautiful gesture Sci 🙂 We don’t have much active animal shelters here but I give food to stray dogs whenever I get chance…. Wish I could be more like you…. 🙂

Believe me, it makes a world of difference to any stray dog you manage to give food to 🙂 It must be very different for stray animals, where you live, as I know it is very different in England to here.
Thank you so much for reading this very early post of mine. I really appreciated it 🙂
