grey squirrel – little friend
So there I am, peddling away on the exercise bike, in an attempt simply to maintain my weight – Double Apple Gene – remember?
No amount of happy, upbeat music can detract from the sheer boredom of the exercise – (pun intended!)
But Lo! What light through yonder window breaks? It is a little Cape Robin! It flits around the dogs’ water bowls on the stoep, then perches up on the grape vine, where it fluffs out its feathers, for a moment providing me with a welcome respite.
The robin has no sooner flown away, than a little grey squirrel appears, fidgeting around the lawn, looking for buried treasures, twitching its tail like it is dancing to its own music.
And before you know it, exercise time is up! Cappuccino – here I come!
I’d like to thank my little friends for helping me through my ordeal.

I love my squirrels! They are very entertaining. I’m not sure anything could make exercising interesting to me!

Thats why i like running outside… Keeps me amused whether by nature or by crazy things people do on the sidewalks around me!

Sounds like fun 🙂 Unfortunately, gammy knees mean I can’t jog. No worries though, cos when I tire of the ex bike, I have an arduous floor routine – just for a change! Whatever gets the heart rate up and makes muscle 🙂

Exercise is THE worst lol. I also get super bored, but keep up the good work! It’s always worth it in the long run or at least that is what I tell myself 🙂

haha Yes, the benefits are worth it. I just don’t seem to get that ‘high’ I’ve heard of after exercising. Apparently I need to do more?? Heaven forbid! 🙂

Exercises are no fun for me either…;) The squirrel is very cute,lucky you got such clear pic of it…The bushy tail and its shadow look awesome..

Thank you 🙂 (ahem this was actually an old photo of the squirrel I had) I did go to get my camera for the robin, but my dog saw me and dashed outside so the bird flew away!

Wish I could get more animal photos (besides my mutts) but haven’t been so lucky on that regard yet. I’ve set up bird feeders in order to lure them in so maybe soon I’ll have something besides mushrooms and flowers to present. 🙂 Love your photos and keep up the great work!

Thank you so much! Very much enjoying your photos and posts too 🙂 Yes, bird feeders seem to work very well. I don’t use them myself, because my dog is such a hunter – I feel it unfair to lure birds in for her to chase!
