Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam

Akismet does an awesome job of catching spam before it reaches me, but now and then a few gems slip through. Let me share some of my favourtie spam comments with you, retaining their original unique spelling and grammar.

Hello, after reaing (sic) this remarkable paragraph i am tooo cheerful to share my experience here with mates.

Well at least you’re happy.

How about this one,ย in response to my post “I am a Hundred” where I simply stated that this was my hundredth post and thanked all my followers:-

It’s hard to find experienced people in this particular subject, however, you seem like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks

Still, good to know that I know what I’m talking about!

And this, in response to “Moonlit Butterflies” which was basically just a photo:-

Thanks for sharing such a good thought, article is pleasant, that’s wwhy i have read it fully

So how do you spot spam? Usually they comment on an old post, with a long paragraph where they extol the virtues of some item they are trying to promote – iPad, Adiphene etc. Often their spelling and grammar is not great, as if they have used Google translate:-

Adiphene weight reduction pill is the answer for those who always goes on food regimen however can’t endure the meals carving hunger and the irritability gave rise by dieting.

Please Note I have a few followers where English is not their first language and I am always impressed by their excellent command of a difficult language. And you know my pathetic attempts at a foreign language, French, in La Belle Fleur!

All I’m saying is, if you feel like a bit of a laugh, check out any comments waiting in your Akismet spam queue. You won’t be disappointed!

And to finish:-

Hey there. You’ve done an excellent job. I’ll certainly digg (sic) it and personall – recommend to my friends. I am sure they will be benefited from this website.

So – are you benefited from my website?

I think I’ve only ever had one spam comment actually get through to my notifications. Akismet works very well ๐Ÿ™‚

You’d be surprised by the number of people who think comments like these are genuine and so they un-spam them. The spammers know to appeal to our egos by writing complimentary things, even though they often don’t make sense.

Well yes, it IS nice to be told I am awesome ๐Ÿ˜€
I should have added that I mark them all as spam, so hopefully deplete the spam pool a little!

These spam are hilarious! I do read some of the ones that get thru. Some are even somewhat mean: You could benefit from an editor like me to help you get discovered. .. (to the like).
These spammers have no heart, just like telemarketers. How do they live each day knowing most people’s disdain of them? Sigh.

I have no idea what goes on in a Spammer’s head – if anything! And yes, I do get a tad miffed when someone with terrible grammar tells me I can’t write! So best just to laugh at it ๐Ÿ™‚ And I keep checking, as sometimes a genuine comment has found its way into the spam by mistake. – I think one of yours once?

Go to your Dashboard, and look in the Akismet paragraph. There isn’t Always something, as Akismet deletes most of it, but now and then there will be some comments waiting in the Spam Queue, for you to check. I always check them, because occasionally real comments have been put here by mistake.
        Happy hunting ๐Ÿ™‚

I am addicted to reading my span comments. At least I am guaranteed to get a comment a day. After reading your blog I took a look.
“Excellent way of telling, and pleasant piece of writing to get facts concerning my presentation topic,
which i am going to present in college.”
The spammer did get one thing right (IMHO). I do have an excellent way of telling things. ๐Ÿ™‚ But as far as being pleasant? My piece of writing was about having the blues and blahs and believe me that is not pleasant.
But the spammer is college educated which is a point in his favor. Most seem like a kids in junior high which is probably insulting the kids. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
