My younger daughter (carrying her sister’s luggage) shares a special moment with a giant sea turtle (photographic display, not real) at Cape Town International airport.
To fit the turtle in the frame I had to back up right across the corridor. After a moment I noticed a young lady had politely stopped pushing her trolley, to allow me to take the picture. Behind her, and backing up down the passage, were lots of other passengers with their luggage; all stopped for a moment to let me get the shot!
We were all very pleasantly surprised by this act of consideration.
After surviving the chaos that is Heathrow, followed by a twelve hour flight, my older daughter arrived at the airport yesterday morning, still smiling.
There used to be a life-sized bronze statue of an African elephant at the airport. It was lovely to take your photo next to it. (I think it is now at the Waterfront?) Now there is this giant chair.
The instructions say “Take a Seat” – which I would have loved to, but there are no steps up to it, and I fear my ‘shimmying-up-poles-days’ are over!
My girls are my sunshine on a cloudy day. To listen to a blast from the past try My Girl recorded by the Temptations in 1964.
Say a big hellooooo to the babies from leetle me …and psssst do tell them about the eccentricities of me and the daring cartwheels by sparky 😄😄I hope you you girls get to have a whole lot of fun ❤❤

It was very effective – and more panels of photos than I could catch on my camera. But yes, sea creatures should stay in the sea!

Such a nice gesture by the passengers 🙂 This happened with me once a month back and I was shocked about it because people generally push anyone to everyone without caring if anyone’s stuff is breaking ! Forget about being sweet 😉 I am so happy for you,its going to be so much joys and fun in the coming days. I love family reunions.A big hug to everyone there ❤
