Out with the Old, In with the New

Old and New 1

The first pink blush of youth –

Fades and withers under the searing heat of the African sun – like the rest of us poor creatures living here.

Dual effect on a floribunda rose bush, where the deep pink new blooms stand out against the paler, withering old roses.

So, I know which I am – which are you?

Thank you 🙂 Having grown up in N England I find it especially hot now! But I have put snow on my blog, courtesy of WP 🙂

Oh wow! Congrats!:) The rose bush finally got this big!!! I’m sure it takes a lot of time and efforts to take care of this rose bush ❤ Your daughter must be a fan of planting and big credit to her 😉

Yes – she has the green fingers! But if I keep watering my plants – for decades – then eventually they get their roots down to the water table and can look after themselves!! 🙂

If I were an oak tree I would be a sweet young thing. If I were a tortoise I would be an adolescent. I’m still in the process of ‘being’ but the blush is definitely a distant memory. But what a memory!

Hmm – I’m wondering what the ants have done? Maybe they were after aphids on the plant? Don’t give up tho, your rose bush may surprise you yet 🙂
