Still Waters

Still waters run deep

Their secrets to keep

While this tiny brook trickling away was definitely not still or deep, it nevertheless brought about a feeling of calmness. Birds twittered in the trees all around and insects buzzed by lazily.

There is something mesmerizing about staring at running water; or flames in an open fire. Maybe it awakens something ancient and primordial in our brains, and connects us to nature once again.

I hope you find a few moments of stillness during your busy day, to breathe and be thankful; for anything.

Well said and beautiful picture Sci! ❀ I feel exactly the same about "staring at running water; or flames in an open fire". Nature is always amazing to heal our tension of everyday life πŸ˜‰

Nice, especially as we are sitting in the boat on the water. Apart from the occasional splash as a duck comes into land or a swallow dips for a drink, it’s really peaceful here today.

Very nice post. It’s funny how little water it takes to soothe the soul. I love to sit and look at a campfire or fireplace, you almost become hypnotized watching the fire flicker. So relaxing.

I love the photo and you are so right- there is something about running water or sitting by a stream or listening the waves of the ocean that calms a person’s soul (or mine at least)
