Weapon of mass destruction – in the old days!
This old cannon is on display at the Alphen Hotel. I’ve no idea what ‘gauge’ it is, or when it was last used.
However, there is a cannon still fired every day at noon from Signal Hill, in Cape Town. You can read more about it here, Noon Gun.
Ppl are very fond of their old cannons, there are a load dotted around Hereford. None of them get fired though.

Ooh Alpen Hotel transformed to Bohemian style of sorts. I would love to stay in this 5 star ecclectic hotel (I call it that as mix of styles) for a taste of splendour and history βΊHope the food is good ha ha typical foodie Singaporeanπ

The hotel room looks so lovely !!!!! Kinda Victorian honeymoon π π
The Noon gun is more than 200 years old !!!!! Wow, to think to still be a part of history …… Here I am yet to know of such long ongoing traditions that are otherwise not related to religion/festivals…. Do they allow to visit that place ?
