I’d like to point out that water is fluid and ‘soft’ yet can make its own path over time. So can people; not by brute force, which ‘strong’ is often taken to mean, but by strength of determination and never veering from your chosen course.

It is Mother’s Day here in SA, and I’m guessing in America also. Have you seen the cute Google animation?

I don’t really ‘do’ Mother’s Day. I don’t care for card and gift manufacturers trying to cash in on the kids. It is enough for me to know my girls are strong independent women, living their own lives.

I don’t think it should be Mothers Day anyway; I think it should be Women’s Day.

I’d like to wish all women a great day today.

After all, as Ginger Rogers said, we do everything the man does, but backwards and in high heels!

    I loved this quote ❤ Sometimes I begin to wonder if all the 'Days' that being celebrated even existed 50 years back ! I have even heard of Rose day, Forget me not day, Breakup day etc etc , seem like a cash scams to me… I too think a Womens day is a nice gesture 🙂 I would rather buy something for my mom like a surprise and when I find something nice and not bounded to a specific occasion !
    The Google doodle was very very cute 😀 😀

    It’s mother’s day in Belgium as well. I agree with you. It’s like the others special days, it’s commercial .. and even if everyone knows it, I’m sure they would be sad if we don’t wish them a happy mother’s day 🙂

      Yes, there are so many women out there who are not mothers, who also ought to be recognised. Happy Women’s Day to your wife 🙂

      Yes, I realise 🙂 And I had mentioned this originally in my post, but decided it detracted from what I was trying to say, so deleted it! It was weird for me moving to SA from UK, to find Mother’s Day was on a different day, and I thought it was just SA that was odd. Father’s Day is the same tho.

    Nice quote on “water” – it is much like Tai Chi where the practice of this martial art is to go with the force to deliver maximum impact. Not brute force.
    True…I never saw “water” that way but you are right on water finding its own path or course.
    Agree with you on commercialisation of Mother’s Day. If we love our mums everyday, it is mother’s day daily. One need not get held ransomed for expensive meals that commercial entrepreneurs cash in on this day 😉
