This magnificent gold clock tower at Cliveden House UK was used to chime the hour of midnight in the movie Cinderella.

See, you learn something new every day!

There is a sumptuous, gold, mirrored dining room in the house (no photos were allowed) that was used in a few movies too; one of which was Sherlock Holmes, where Robert Downey Jr was tied to the bed!

I know! I walked in the same room that Robert Downey Jr walked in.

      Cinderella was released earlier this year – I watched it on the plane on the way home. šŸ™‚ The Sherlock Holmes movie was made in 2009. Sadly I had nothing to do with any of this – just a visitor in the house long after the filming šŸ™‚

      hahaha Girl after my own heart! We’d been shown all round the house – yes, v interesting – old stuff, dark paintings etc, then at the end the guide tells us about movies made there! Now I’m listening šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚
      To think I stood in the very room where Robert was mostly naked on a bed – albeit years ago – well how cool is that? šŸ™‚

    This is such a great shot! I can see the glistening gold statue up on top the gold tower! Beautiful contrast of colors and I remember that Sherlock Holme’s scene. šŸ™‚
