Mr Spaghetti Legs and the Bed

Mr SL and Bed 1

Mr Spaghetti Legs is a very old boy, who unfortunately leaks. His bed needs scrubbing down quite often. Then I prop it up against something like the door, to catch as much winter sunlight as possible, so it can dry by the evening.

I heard a scrabbling sound and when I looked outside, there was old SL, settling himself on beddy. It didn’t seem to occur to him that his bed was vertical! He just made the best of it and lay down.

By the looks of things, Β he couldn’t quite understand why his bum did not fit on his bed. His front paws were in the correct position, so what was going on? Not normally spatially-challenged, he just could not figure out that his bed was sideways on!

Thanks for the heads up about diabetes – I’ll ask next visit to the vets. πŸ™‚
He had all sorts of (expensive) tests when I first got him, and turns out it was a persistent bladder infection caused by bacteria resistant to penicillin and it just keeps flaring up. He has no other problems apart from arthritis, which at 13+ is not bad.

It’s as well for me not to get complacent – just because one thing is wrong I mustn’t assume that is all that it is. SL does drink more than LM, but he always has – old boy, kidneys probably not 100%. I’m always grateful for any tips – Thank you πŸ™‚

We will all be old one day. Leaky, crotchety, hopefully not finnicky or senile. Mr SL has so much love from you. He is truly blessed to have you πŸ™‚
I hope when I am old and crochety, I will have an “owner” as kind as you πŸ˜‰

Dogs do love their beds. My daughter has an old leaky dog too! Just thought I would throw that in. Like Colinandray said, we are all going to get old and leaky someday. Think the reduced brain cells come before leaky. Ha

Aw, poor thing. Girls are usually easier to stop leaking – with estrogen. Boys not much you can do. I have mats all over the place – and keep washing them! πŸ™‚
