They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Poem ‘For the Fallen’ by Robert Laurence Binyon.
November 11th is Remembrance Day.
Because we should remember all those fallen in all wars.
And hope that some day it stops.
Good to see your post again Sci! π I look forward to seeing you again next year. Enjoy your break with family and your dogs! β€ β€ β€

I did pop by your blog from time to time to see if you were around yet. I hope the German enterprise is still on track.
Catch up with you in a month or two. π

Glad you posted …. and a worthy post. Hope is very important and very powerful. Next year is not that far away so enjoy the end of the year and return next. I have bounced in and out of blogging so many times. One has to wait for the right moment and motivation. π

I sat in the car park on an industrial retail park during the two minutes silence at 11am, with the window open so that passers-by could hear the bongs of Big Ben. Unlike in Lincolnshire and Poole where people stopped walking, talking and what they were doing, I was appalled that no-one in such a major town took any notice. So unlike the memorial march held here on Sunday, where poppy wreaths were laid at the monument and every fallen soldier’s name (from all conflicts) local to the area were read out.

That is sad. I know the Great Wars were a long time ago – but war is on-going, world wide. We need to remember.

Welcome back. Like your poppy, that is my kind of flower, never old and never dies.

Yep – we used to buy these at school, a long time ago!
I’m not really back – just wanted to say something. Probably back next year π
