White Wolf

Shy and reclusive, the White Wolf is difficult to capture on film.

Did you know that there used to be wild wolves in Cape Town?

It was a while ago; around the time that the Cape Lion died out.

Of course there are no wild wolves left any more.

But a few White Wolves survive in captivity.

Like old Mr Spaghetti Legs: looking very wolf-like after his bath!

post script: Did I fool you? It’s been a while since I tried to trick you. Maybe I succeeded?

There are no wolves indigenous to South Africa, but there is a wolf sanctuary at Tsitsikamma.

      Thank you very much 🙂
I am so sorry to hear about your old girl. Dogs are amazing though, and seem to cope with whatever life throws at them.

I think the worst thing for old SL is that he is not allowed straight back inside the house after a bath! He has to dry off a bit first.
But he’s a little wild – no bath tub, just a large bucket of warm water and the hose pipe! (It is mid-summer here, so very warm.) 🙂

Well, I guess like most dogs, there’s still a little of the wolf in him. On that day, there was also a little of the wolf outside him too (around the nose area).
