Sun Day

Muizenberg Beach

Muizenberg Beach

What do you do on a Sunday in December?

Here in Cape Town, South Africa, you go to the beach.

There is always a breeze and you can escape the summer heat for a while.

The sea may be icy, but the surf is good; some of the best in the world.

And don’t worry about the sharks; there is a Shark Spotter, keeping watch from high on the mountain. Yes, sharks are easy to spot from above, but if you are that bothered, then don’t swim out beyond the surf line.

Or be like me, and just walk along the beach then have an ice cream!

Wow, a beautiful beach. Seems so weird to know you are having summer, when winter is beginning here. Think it is finally going to cool off and be winter tomorrow. Was 81 degrees in Lt. Rock Saturday, broke a record. Have never seen a December this mild in Arkansas before.

I know you must be used to it, but it still seems such a juxtaposition to me to enjoy the Christmas season with an ice cream and a stroll down a beautiful beach. Not bad, mind you. Not bad at all, just… er… different. πŸ™‚

Nah – I’m not used to it; which is why I moan so much at this time of year! I grew up in the north of England, where we had respectably jolly cold winters and snow drifts. (You know, in the old days before Global Warming!)
But we have passed the ‘summer’ solstice, so the sun is going away again now. Can’t wait!! πŸ™‚

        haha For sure!
Where abouts in the North do you live? Your time zone seems to be way ahead of mine, which is unusual, USA being 7 to 9 hours behind.

Hi Scifi, what a wonderful imagination meeting a shark πŸ˜‰
Here wie still have spring-temperatures, yesterday I saw bumblebees.
So we could do nearly everything, but after and before the holidays I’m a lazy bone. Just a long walk …
    Have a nice Sunday,
    Ulli

Wet and windy here, but nothing like the north of the country. We are having a quiet day today, food wise, travel wise and any other wise. We may take the dog for a walk if the rain eases up, but other than that, lazy day for us!
