Turn to Brown.
Or gold!
Though temperatures are still summery here in Cape Town, there is a chill in the air once the sun goes down.
I guess it is Autumn!
And in case you hadn’t noticed, there is a bird perched right at the top of the tree in that last photo, basking in the dawn’s early rays.
post script: Because you are probably singing it in your head anyway, you can listen to the song by Simon and Garfunkel here: Leaves That Are Green.
post post script: One again, to achieve the full effect of the colour of these Autumn leaves, tilt your screen away from you and watch them light up!
magnificent Autumn!

I don’t remember what Joburg is like in Autumn, but there are mostly evergreens around CT. This is a neighbour’s tree (sneaky!) 🙂

Thank you 🙂 You have to hunt for these autumn colours among the multitude of evergreens here.

Change in season again?? Time flies…I remember not long ago you were sharing summer-posts 🙂

This is true. It is mostly summer here, with a week or two of autumn, then winter for a few months, then summer again! 🙂

It’s funny to see Autumn colours when all spring flowers are popping up here.

haha True, but you should also be used to feeling topsy turvy, growing up in Australia 🙂
(Sorry for delay in response – somehow this comment was hiding, and did not show up as ‘unread’ in my notifications. But no worries, I check my Dashboard frequently, and saw this and another comment.)

Spring here! The leaves are just now appearing here in Illinois. 🙂

Spring seems fairly late? Or is this usual?
While we have a few golden trees here, there are many other plants just starting to produce buds – like my Camellia bush!
Basically it is always ‘summer’ in Cape Town. 🙂

Last week was Autumn, today is Winter! haha Howling gales and rain. Yes, the seasons, like sunset, happen rapidly.
Thank you for reading – you must be really tired. (I’ve just read your post.)

We’re headed the other way – brown to green. I think I’ll stick with our part of the world right now. But come fall, I think I should head south!

I still feel confused with the seasons, having grown up in the Northern Hemisphere! But I love to see scenes from other parts of the world, especially snow when I am oh so hot! 😀

I always have to remember who I am talking to online, because I communicate with enough Aussies and South Africans that I can get quite confused myself!

Never mind. Maybe I should call myself Scifi and Little Monkey – if that would clarify things! 🙂
But I know what you mean, and have sometimes commented on someone’s blog – thinking it was someone else! Oops! 😀

Ha! I think we’ve all commented on the wrong person’s blog. That’s when I desperately need the ability to delete things (though I suspect everyone involved is mostly amused by the whole thing).

I know! I have tried to delete something I sent in error – but you can only do it on your own blog! 🙂

So hard to get use to you being in another season of the year than us. You are going into Autum and we are entering Spring. Love that Simon and Garfunkel song.

It’s been many years since I was in Cape Town, and it was Spring then, but I remember the evergreens. And the bright blue water and the whales. It was blissful, and gorgeous. Thanks for the memories.

Well, looking on the bright side, I’m guessing the mosquitoes will disappear for a while.

Today for sure – as we have rain and super strong winds. It would take a Super Mossie to combat these!
(Yeah I’m always a bit behind in my writing! It Was sunny!)
