Perhaps only a Mother could love this young Marabou Stork?
But I’m sure when he’s all grown up, the ladies will find him dashing!

I think he cuts a dash in his morning coat 🙂

So ugly he is cute!
Many birds that eat carrion and flesh have no feathers, or few feathers, around the head. Makes one wonder what the meat eating dinosaurs (that had feathers) looked like! 🙂

I’d like to know the colours of the dinosaurs. I imagine all sorts of magnificence – like birds. 🙂

I wonder if it will ever get pretty? It looks like a raggedy bird ha ha!

This is as good as he gets! Because he will lose the cute fluffy white feathers when he becomes an adult. 🙂

Oh, Marabou Storks – quite possibly the least attractive birds on the planet. But something has to be the least attractive!

For sure, but we see them thro human eyes. Another Marabou must like this look! 🙂

I think the lady storks would be attracted to him if he would just use some hair oil and comb his hair once in awhile. lol Nice photos.

Ah – there you have it! He has all this white fluffy hair cos he is still young. He’ll go more bald when he is an adult at about 4 years. Not that I think that would necessarily be an improvement! 🙂

Ha, funny – bald is not an improvement. 🙂

Is he a scavenger bird? I’m guessing that because of the lack of feathers on his head. Many vultures lack them, as its easier to stay clean when your head is in a dead animal… 😝

Yes, he feeds mainly on carrion and scraps (I did put a link in, but maybe it is not obvious?) But he performs a necessary task in the ecosystem by removing rotting carcasses. 🙂
So not too pretty, but hey, it’s all good in Nature 🙂

Oops, missed the link.
I like that I may be learning things and don’t have to consult Mr. Google all the time 😉
