Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head!

Dianthus 1

Dianthus 1

RAIN

Silver drops of mercury

Glistening like dew

Fallen from the sky with love

Gifted just for you

Dianthus 2

Life-giving rain finally falls as a deluge, drowning these little Dianthus plants.

But they don’t seem to mind.

Tomorrow, the sun could be out in full force again, so they need all the water they can get, while they can!

      Thank you very much. πŸ™‚
That is my favourite version of the song too. πŸ™‚ I included a link to his song in a post script, but I think it might be hard to read. It became famous in the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which is when I first heard BJ Thomas singing it. πŸ™‚
You are lucky to have seen him live! πŸ™‚

Fun poem! And it’s true too, nature gifts with endless abundance, although humans keep messing with her by being parasitic and taking too much, she gives what she can. πŸ™‚

    Lovely photos too!

Living in a hot country with occasional droughts, I am all too aware of the necessity of life-giving rain!

We have been having some really hard rain. The kind that beats the plants down mercilessly. And we think ……. that’s the end of that plant. But a few hours later when the sun comes out, the plants have perked back up again like nothing happened. πŸ™‚
