You Are Still A Little Monkey!

Little Monkey

Little Monkey

A funny thing happened the other morning. I’d given the dogs their breakfast and was waiting for the milk for my cereal to warm up in the mw, when I turned round to check on Little Monkey.

Little Monkey’s bowl was sparkly-empty, and I saw, to my utter amazement, that she was standing over at Mr Spaghetti Legs’ place, calmly eating his breakfast!

He was none too happy about it, but being the gentleman that he is, he just stood and watched as LM rapidly hoovered up his kibble.

Agh!

I stormed over there, grabbed LM by the scruff of the neck and threw her out of the kitchen. (She’s pretty big, I didn’t really throw her! Rather, firmly escorted her.)

I always supervise meal times with my dogs, because LM has no social skillsΒ whatsoever. I have trained her to leave the kitchen immediately once she has finished her food, and usually I stand there to make sure that she does. Just this one time, I was half asleep, and look what she does!

Unbelievable!

    Little Monkey! You’re so cute!
I’ve got the same issue at my house. However, I’m so over figuring out who’s eating who’s stuff. I think it evens out in the end. One eats both suppers one night, then the opposite the next. There is “snack kibble” left out of someone is starving.

haha Starving? When Oreo and Breck can attend pig braais and Beg so convincingly? πŸ™‚
I have to make sure my dogs eat their own suppers at least, because SL has special meds cos he’s so old.

Ha ha, bless her, she felt like double breakfast, thats like Toffee at the moment, I have watch him. The other three have learnt, but Nipper will gobble up anything that the others leave, if I can’t get to the dishes quick enough πŸ™‚ He is on a diet, his tummy use to touch the ground, but now its a good 3 inches back up to where it should be πŸ™‚

Excellent on Nipper’s dieting – it is hard for them, but they feel so much better when they lose a little. I found my dogs tended to gain weight when they were older and I had to adjust their food.
LM – she’ll eat Anything, and frequently does! πŸ™‚

They are amazingly attentive to us – I can’t tell you the number of times I did something slightly different and Choppy took full advantage of it (less so as she gets older, but when she was younger I had to watch that one well!).

True, but I do take her to dog social classes – every week for 9 1/2 years now! And Still she hasn’t a clue! (Granted she is Much better than when I first got her, but I’ll be taking her forever!)
There were 36 dogs in this morning’s class! – all off lead. Actually it’s more work for me than it is for LM! πŸ™‚

‘Wasn’t me honest!’ doesn’t begin to cover it. Maggie has never bolted her food or pinched another dog’s, though saying that she does leave her own until she gets a bit of what the other’s having!
