    It brings tears to my eyes seeing SL pics from past when we talked about his daily ventures. The silent understanding companion. I am sorry for your loss Sci. May he really be racing with his friends in some other world, content and free of pain.

      It is very hard to lose a loyal companion, even if SL did live way beyond expectations. I am sure he is with his friends now.
      I still miss him, but having LM definitely helps.

    My aunt lost her old boy Max this year in June. He was the gentlest creature in the whole wide world. He lived a healthy, happy life, the daschund. Mr.SL and Max are in a better place now. Bless their kind souls. We’ll surely miss them a lot, but never forget the many fond memories they gave us. ❤

    Oh no! I’m so sorry! What awful sad news. Sending you a massive hug. My dad told me when I was little and my best friend (dog) died that my dog would spend all his days running in the fields in heaven and at night get to sleep at the bottom of my bed. I swear I use to feel the weight of him on my feet 😊 hope I’ve helped a little xoxo

    What can one say in these circumstances? Somebody once said “I don’t know where dogs go when they die, but that is where I want to go.” They really do touch us at such a deep level. I cannot imagine a life without our Ray, although I too will have to confront that situation one day. Please accept our sincere and heartfelt condolences and, as others have said, take comfort in the many happy times that you had with him. You gave him a good life, to which he was undoubtedly very thankful. Take care. Colin, Carol and (of course) Ray.

    Aww. This is so touchingly sad, but your (and the other commenters) have the right way of looking at it. Mr. SL is enjoying freedom from pains and running with his new pack. Or, if you believe as my friends who practice Eastern philosophies, he’s already been reborn. I like that idea. Now, I’m going to go hug Fergus. 😥

    I am so sorry for your loss, but so happy that he runs free from the aches and pains of a body that lived life large…I am sure Mr Spaghetti Legs goes knowing how loved he was, just as I am sure he stays loved in your heart and in the happy memories

      Thank you so much. You’ve just suffered your own loss, so know just how hard it is at first. Such a massive emptiness. But it will get easier and the happy memories will prevail.

    I’m all misty eyed… I know he’s chasing bunnies and gnawing on bones with his friends. However, he will always live in our hearts. Even my phone learned ‘Mr. SL’, I liked to comment so much about him. He had such cool spots and a cool attitude. Give Little Monkey a treat and snuggle for me. She will be missing her friend terribly. 😓😓
