Maybe not!
For months, in this unusual teacup plant pot, there have been just the dried up leaves of a long dead plant.Β (No rain and left unwatered one too many times!)
Till finally I replenished it with this little Dianthus. It tolerates the heat very well and is such a happy colour.
Now, as long as I remember to water it!
post script: For size comparison, that is a brick the teacup is sitting on; the cup being 15 cm in diameter. Can you imagine the size of its companion teapot?
Hello there! I wandered my way here through a reblog of one of your posts on Pamela’s site. I have enjoyed reading a few posts of yours. I look forward to exploring this space more but that will have to wait for now.Just thought I’d say hi while I am here. Cheers.

haha You’d probably need at least 2 teabags for a decent cuppa! π

What a great idea of using a teacup, that is a large size though. Beautiful flower!

It is actually a plant pot – I bought it as such at a Garden Centre – I just love the teacup shape. π
Someone else commented that they used an old teapot for a plant pot – that’s a good idea. π
And Thank you π I do like dianthus too π

Thank you for sharing the idea. I saw a miniature arranged on a teacup in a shop. π

Thank you! Hopefully I will pay more attention to it. It is right by the front doorstep, so I have no excuse.

That might be the hardest place – you think “Hey, I’ll just water it the next time I walk by” and then it just keeps getting put off until you have a dead plant.
Or maybe that’s just me.

haha I usually give the poor plant the last of the water from the bottle I always take out with me, as I return to the house. π

That’s an excellent idea! I have to try that!

Had to smile at your teacup, because we have two old and chipped teapots which are serving the same purpose! π

I use this color of dianthus in my summer beds quite often! It really pops when interspersed with Dusty Miller. π

I always toyed with bringing to work and filling it with tea! Will last me for weeks as I call it “mother of all tea cup and saucer!”

I love dianthus! Sadly, I think mine died last winter. I don’t know if I’ll replace it, I’m kinda over doing the same thing and looking for different results π
I’ll probably pick something different.

Dianthus is my “go to” plant, as it hasn’t let me down yet. π
I’m sure you’ll think of something good to try out instead – you have lots to choose from. π
