This was our view at sunset last night, while we all awaited the promised rain storm.
Finally, in the night, the clouds rolled in and we got our much-needed rain. (Photo below is before sunset, as the clouds just start to gather.)
It’s not a lot of rain though. The total dam storage is down to 19%, which is effectively 9% as the last 10% is very hard to use. We need way more than one cold front to make any impression on that.
And yes it is windy. (Apparently it took the roof off the local school’s new pavilion.) But it’s not that bad! We’ve had way worse. Not a tile was rattled on our old roof. Which just goes to show that they don’t build things nowadays like they used to!
The worst result of this storm, as far as I’m concerned, was the power cut we had from 5 am to 11 am this morning. Boy did I rush to make that first cuppa once it came back on. It is way too chilly to be drinking cold water!!
I’m glad you’re at least getting a little rain – here’s hoping for more (in a nice, pleasant fashion – no rain that causes trouble!).

Power cut from 5 – 11am? Very short. But mine is 1 day and an hour on three weeks ago.

That is way too long! Is it cold at the moment where you live?

No. I’m in Thailand (you could see that on my home page) so right now is rainy season.

Yes, I can see, but I didn’t know the climate in Thailand – had to google. 🙂

Endless high winds have been here in Illinois! We are now bone dry! The farmers need rain!

This is the problem – we have messed up Mother Earth so much that the weather just doesn’t ‘work’ any more!
But we got Some rain here at least, and today I have power and a hot cuppa. 😀

omg watching this storm on television (while warm and cosy) and the fires in Knysna, OMG.

I feel fires are the worst, as so fast and unpredictable, especially with a strong wind.
As to our storm, yes it was windy, but not that bad at all. I’ve lived here 30 years, and we’ve had Much worse. There used to be storm fronts that reached all the way from CT to Jo’burg!
I think the media these days is all about hype and Bad news?

We got some rain all right, but mostly lots of wind!! 😀
We need rain every day for weeks on end really, as it used to do in our rainy season! 🙂
I don’t have a gas thingy, everything is electric here and we haven’t had power cuts for a long time – this was caused by the storm.

Ohh strong winds…take care and keep windows and doors locked. LM must be scared stiff especially if winds howl…..I get scared too😊Take care and stay warm.

CT is known as the Cape of Storms! so we’re used to it. LM is absolutely fine; it doesn’t bother her at all – luckily. 🙂

Yet another fact of CT! I never knew about the storms. I am glad LM is “immune” to the storms.😅
