I don’t “Do” Valentine’s Day.
If I love someone, it’s every day.
I don’t need companies selling expensive cards or heart-shaped chocolates to make money out of me. I don’t condone roses being sold at a higher price today, because now they are in demand!
Still, I know from past years that most of WP will be full of gooey Valentine stuff.
That’s fine!
But here’s my contribution.
David Bowie singing Valentine’s Day.
hehehe
(Still miss you David!)
Yes, I know I’ve posted David before. But really, he beats all other Valentine’s Day offerings hands down!
This one’s for you, Pix.
He he my husband said I could have any flowers I wanted at the weekend after valentines day. I’ve got a lovely bunch which is making the house smell fantastic for £5 a fraction of the price a valentines posy would have cost 😊

Well this is it! You have beautiful flowers from someone who loves you – there is no reason to pay the earth for that! 🙂

Does Choppy dressed in a wreath count as gooey Valentine’s Day stuff? 😉

haha I don’t think I’d ever call Choppy gooey! 😀
But surprisingly, there was very little ‘goo’ on WP this year. Choppy was nearly the gooiest! 😀

Perhaps next year I’ll supply the goo. I have no idea what it would be – I don’t even post sappy notes to Paul on our anniversary or birthday on social media (which seems full of goo many days of the year).

Hmmm The only type of Goo I can think of in terms of Choppy – is Gooey Goo – like your peanut butter post. 😀

Very nice! I agree. Shower the people you love with love . . . show them the way that you feel . . . ~ James Taylor.

I told my wife, “No chocolates for me, please!”
Yes, we should have love each and every day of the year! 🙂

Bought myself some pink and white tulips today (that is, the tulips they are pink, and they are white; they are not pink-and-white). Those of us who live in this hemisphere and are still “enjoying” winter, need some cheer and beauty right about now — and we need to love ourselves.

I wholeheartedly agree in buying yourself flowers to cheer up. 😀
I did so for ages after my Elderly and old Mr SL died. Tulips are really lovely too. 🙂

Hey … I love your perspective on Valentines Day! It is both sensitive and logical. Who needs to get ripped over buying flowers just because of the date? Who is really satisfied with a show of affection once a year? Who really wants a profit making machine to tell them when to express affection? If you feel it necessary to go “overboard” once a year, then surely a relationship anniversary date makes much more sense. 🙂

Us neither. Hubby buys me flowers because he feels like it and tells me he loves me every day. Who needs a special day, when every day is special when it’s filled with love.
