Sundown

Sundown

Sundown

Don’t stare at the sun

We’re told as a kid

Unless through a lens

As clearly I did

.

With my trusty Canon in hand I am never afraid to try awkward or difficult shots, safe in the knowledge that my camera will take care of the specifics and produce a decent photo, while protecting my eyes.

Here the sun is beginning to go down towards the mountains, with vineyards in front, as I took my friend home after her birthday celebration of cake and champagne.

Even though I took the shot directly into the sun, my little camera still managed a decent picture – and I wasn’t blinded.

.

Don’t worry; I took my champagne “To go”, by pouring most of it into an empty water bottle I had taken with me for that very purpose. I may have a teeny reputation on my blog for drinking vodka or champagne, but I never do so and drive.

Nice shot and your landscape looks beautiful – very green considering your drought that we are hearing on the news about.

Yes I am always surprised by how green things still look. Then again, it is not supposed to rain at this time of year anyway. We’ll see what happens this winter . . . (June/July for us)

Well it worked πŸ™‚ we had a lovely sunny day, although they are talking about it starting all over again next week. Is your daughter in Germany, we are going in 2 weeks, I was hoping for nice weather, but it doesn’t sound good.

Oh…I have my faith and trust in you that you are a grounded person. You will never drink and drive. I drive. You drinkπŸ˜†Great photo and nice of you to bring champagne and cake for a friend’s birthdayπŸ‘πŸ€—πŸΎπŸ’•

That looks stunning! Considering i haven’t seen the sun in almost an entire week now, this picture is a great reminder that it still exists and that I might see it soon πŸ™‚

      Thank you πŸ™‚
I love sun-downers too. I often sit under the trees in my garden and just enjoy the Heat disappearing a little! πŸ˜€
I don’t think the drought will have affected the grapevines because the vintners will have irrigated their crop throughout. I don’t water my vines and we had a bumper crop this year! Go figure! πŸ™‚
Either way, all the birds love the grapes – so maybe they are sweeter! πŸ™‚
