Pick On Someone Your Own Size!

Little Monkey

So Little Monkey got charged by a snarling, barking dog again.

Not as horrific as you might be thinking.

This particular monster was a very young Labrador puppy and barely came up to LM’s ankles!

It shot out of its house, ran right across the road and went straight for LM, snarling, yapping, barking and snapping.

LM was a bit surprised and was just about to react when I put her behind me and faced the little rat. I easily stopped it by bending down and grabbing it by the scruff of the neck and its harness.

A man working at the house (not the owner of the pup) came rushing over, picked up the puppy and took it back inside.

We were both laughing at the puppy’s antics.

It was hilarious!

But in a year or two, when it is fully grown and weighing 30 kg, it won’t be so funny!

Yes thank you LM is fine, there was no contact. Much worse are the big dogs that go for her. One of these days they’ll get past me!
I wish people would just socialise their dogs more and avoid all these incidents.

Our little, blind Shih Tzu and i were once viciously bitten all up by a neighbor’s big dog. They never apologized and the husband was even seen smiling during the attack. They never offered to pay for the bills so we took them to court; the court sided with us. The husband, years ago, lost his job as a high school teacher because he had sex with one of his students. Some neighbors!

I remember this awful attack. 😦
Some people really should not own pets, as they have no idea how to take care of them properly.

Glad to hear no one was harmed in the making of this post πŸ™‚ Oh dear it sounds like my little Eddie, wants to take on the world, but then he is tiny…..but has sharpe teeth πŸ™‚

I’ve always wondered why some dogs are naturally territorial and others not. Kinda like people perhaps…some are more inclined to act out of fear instead of love. I do hope that puppy learns to let go of attack as a means of greeting.

Yes, some of it is just the nature of the pup, but a lot of good socialisation can be learnt if the owners just take the dog to classes. I hope these ones do, as I walk past that house very often!

Lucky he had a harness on too. I had an instance where a pup had got out of the garden and was heading for the main road when I was coming back from walking Maggie one afternoon. Luckily, the dog knew me, and I got him to come to me, but Maggie was pulling on the lead and as I scooped him up, he became entangled in my neckchain. Better a broken chain than a dead puppy though and the owner was extremely grateful.

Oh oh…poorly trained puppy and if this pup does not undergo training it will indeed grow up to be a snarly dog that might attack anyone. Good thing you were alert and no pet got hurtπŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Exactly! The puppy was totally unsocialised. I just hope the owners take it to dog class so it can learn how to approach other dogs properly.
It was just so funny to see this tiny little thing taking on the large old girl LM! πŸ˜€

Haha…in our local colloquial saying translated to English – “baby bird does not know strength of elastic band” – in old days small boys handmake a ‘Y’ sling shot and use a strong rubber band to propel small pebbles at noisy macaws in the trees so as to scatter them as they poop on them in their rustic playground in the village.

Goodness! Sounds like boys the world over. I remember my brother with a catapult too.
And yes, those baby birds wouldn’t know what was going on. 😦
