Gleefully golden
Spreading your seeds everywhere
Welcome to the bees
.
These giant dandelions have suddenly sprung up all over the lawn.
Pretty to look at, indeed, and the bees certainly favour them. – see photo below
But in the end, they’re just big weeds, which are successfully overwhelming the struggling grass, soΒ they have to go!
Wonderful poem and photos and I wish we had at least one wildlife visitor that enjoyed weeds!!π

I have never seen such tall dandelions, scourge of lawns, but I must say, sitting where I am sitting, they are a pleasant respite.

They are pretty – you’re right – and still plenty in the lawn for me to look at. π

Absolutely! π
I like them really – always lovely to have a splash of colour – and as they are so hard to dig up, there are still plenty in the lawn! π

Triffids! They’d do Hubby’s head in and he’d be out there with the fork digging them out!!

They are a scourge in our garden but every bit is edible.
That’s prepper knowledge and a misspent youth learning from a rag tag group of people from yesteryear who taught me all of my bush craft skills.

They are very hard to dig out – I have to rest my hand in between days! π

Mother Nature likes to play tricks on us by making weeds as pretty as flowers! Isn’t it a shame that a plant that helps to sustain bees has to go because it is such an invasive weed. Sigh…..

I hadn’t noticed the bee till I was processing my photos for the blog.
Not to worry though, there are plenty more flowers in my garden to keep the little bee happy! π
And most of these giants weeds are still there – it’ll take a while to dig them all out!
