With a little help
Even the lowliest weed
Can become transformed!
.
The photo above is of a weed in my lawn, covered in sparkling dew drops. This would be frost, in a colder climate.
The other day I woke up to a silent, white world.
No, it hadn’t snowed (it doesn’t get cold enough in CT, except on top of the mountains!)
It was Fog! – or a low-lying cloud – same thing.
I walked round the garden taking photos of the trees blending into the cloud in the distance.
It was much quieter than usual, as the mist deadened the sound of birdsong and traffic.
By lunchtime the sun came out and that was the end of the eerie white world.
Still, it was a marvellous *Misty Moisty Morning, while it lasted!
.
*My Mum used to say this nursery rhyme to my kids when they were little.
So lovely!

I made a new post and ping back to your blog after reading your misty stuff. I don’t always get the ping to work so am post it here.

Thank you very much – I’m honoured!
I’ve just read your post in my WP Reader and the ping seemed fine. 🙂

What a lovely nursery rhyme! And your haiku about the lowliest of weeds is inspiring. Think of those weeds as people. I love a good foggy day, it is inspiring and mystical…..

Yes, I have a fondness for this old rhyme, which is perhaps not quite so well known. 🙂
I agree about the weeds/people – often it doesn’t take much to make either shine! 😀

I love fog and the quiet it brings. I don’t want to have to drive in it! It distorts everything. The dew drops really transformed this weeds. I wish our winters were like yours!
It looks like a magical kingdom….until the sun comes out!

Oh no – driving in fog is awful! We used to have some real peasoupers in the north of England when I was a kid. 😀
Yes, it was magical 😀
