Broken down beauty
Dusky petals unfurling
Lovely to behold
.
Sometimes when I am at the local shops buying boring supplies, I will also buy a bunch of roses. We enjoy them for a week or two, as the buds slowly open.
There are always 15 roses in the bunch. However, when I was trimming them and placing in a vase, I only counted 14 roses. Then I noticed one stalk with no rose!
I found the head of the rose on the floor.
So I popped it in my tiny cut-glass vase, filled to the brim with water, and placed it on the window ledge in the kitchen.
This bud too is slowly opening up.
And it makes the washing up much more pleasant!
15 roses in the bunch, wow…
What a beauty!

Good save on the rose that fell onto the floor. It turned out well. Happy Friday Sci.

Beautiful rose Sci. we had some break off their stems they were so heavy and brought them indoors. They lasted ages and the fragrance very subtle.

Sci, as beautiful as a bouquet of roses is, that single rose with no stem is absolutely elegant.
I would so love your kitchen window view than the one I haveβ¦β¦seeing the neighbor across the street in his ill-fitting shorts dumping garbage in his trash can! ππ Maybe I should put a potted plant on the windowsill. Lol.

haha By all means, put a plant on the windowsill! π
But actually our kitchen is at the side of the house, with a view of an 8 foot high wall – badly in need of painting! – and the neighbour’s roof above that! π
Most houses in SA are single storey – bungalows in UK terms!
I have to look out the front to see my neighbour bring in her bin – in slippers – and face mask! π

I just post the first thing that pops into my mind:
We applaud those who are stars. The ones who make it to the top.
Many don’t make the cut but are just as talented. An encouraging word can make all the difference.
