Blue infinity
Soul-searching outer reaches
Introspective thoughts
.
So, I’m sitting in the garden by the pool, under the shade of the giant Eugenia, sipping my vodka, at the end of another hard day, when I hear the sound of the ice cream van, driving past my house, playing Music Box Dancer on an infinite loop.
Instantly, memories flood my inner core, of a long, lazy afternoon in Yorkshire, when my best friend Hilary and I chased the ice cream van around the neighbourhood on our second-hand bikes, buying cheap frozen ices at each stop. I was ten and she was six months younger.
A simpler, happier, time.
post script: If you’re wondering, the leaves you see in the blue sky photo above are from my ancient apple tree, not the Eugenia. And I only include them in the shot to prove that it is indeed the sky, and not a random blue picture. Yes, our sky really is that blue.Β
Thank you for sharing that beautiful blue sky. It brightened up my day and gave me some hope for summer.

I think you’ve had some unseasonal warm weather in UK lately? Tide you over till summer proper. π

Wonderful poem!π Nothing like beautiful blue skies, a little vodka, the thought of ice cream and wonderful childhood memories to help one smile (I was smiling even without the vodka)!π

Got to love a big sky.
Especially one without aircraft contrails.
Some of my best photo’s like that have been taken on our beaches as the sun comes up.
Pure ‘clean’ color.
Yet my color of choice is green. I would hate to live without trees.
Take care.

Sorry you couldn’t reach me – but I’m OK thanks π
Just Loadshedding went to stage 4 – one third of the day with no power – and I just couldn’t keep up with the Blog.
I hope you two are well too. I’ll pop by your Blog when I get a chance. π

What a magnificent blue sky! I would have a kink in my neck from looking up at it! I know where you live isnβt flawless, but Mother Nature outdid herself in Africa! The wildlife, the plant life, itβs all so beautiful.
Hope you are faring well against Covid. On our news they reported that parts of Africa is seeing huge spikes in Covid cases, but they didnβt elaborate as to where. Numbers are rising here in the US as well. My husband and I got our booster shot in October. On last nightβs news, a doctor said we will probably need a second booster in the near future! Will this virus never die?
Stay safe. I think Vodka protects against Covid, so keep drinking it! Lol! π€ͺ

Yes, you are right, Cape Town really is a beautiful place. π
Covid has spiked up in Jo’burg at the moment, 1400km away from CT – but it will get here too.
Good news is, that tho there are more cases, the death rate is way down with this 4th wave.
Had our shots too, but no booster yet – we are behind the rest of the world.
And I totally agree – Vodka protects against germs! π
Keep safe too Ginger π
