I have always loved reading and avidly devoured books of all kinds as a kid. Once a week after school, I braved the long walk along the outside of a maximum security prison to go to the city library, since it had the largest selection of books. The prison, which once held the Yorkshire Jack the Ripper, had the highest walls I had ever seen, towering twenty feet above me, with cameras watching my every tentative step. (Back then, CCTV was very rare.) I did this because I had to read.
I also love to write. I have written poems and stories most of my life, and find a sanctuary there among the words.
This blog is a way of saying a little something each day; sharing an amusing anecdote, or a photo or two. I am learning as I go – who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!
I live in Cape Town, South Africa, with two rescue dogs, Little Monkey and Mr Spaghetti Legs. These are some of their stories; with quite a few other stories and photos thrown in.
Thanks for stopping by; hope to see you again soon. Please feel free to comment; I will get back to you.
