My Tail Too

Scifihammy and TJ

Scifihammy and TJ

I have always loved reading and avidly devoured books of all kinds as a kid. Once a week after school, I braved the long walk along the outside of a maximum security prison to go to the city library, since it had the largest selection of books.ย  The prison, which once held the Yorkshire Jack the Ripper, had the highest walls I had ever seen, towering twenty feet above me, with cameras watching my every tentative step. (Back then, CCTV was very rare.) I did this because I had to read.

I also love to write.ย I have written poems and stories most of my life, and find a sanctuary there among the words.

This blog is a way of saying a little something each day; sharing an amusing anecdote, or a photo or two. I am learning as I go – who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!

I live in Cape Town, South Africa, with two rescue dogs, Little Monkey and Mr Spaghetti Legs. These are some of their stories; with quite a few other stories and photos thrown in.

Thanks for stopping by; hope to see you again soon. Please feel free to comment; I will get back to you.

Aw Thank you for your concern Pam. That is very kind of you. ๐Ÿ™‚
I was battling to keep up when we had so many power cuts – which is why I sort of just stopped – then I had visitors and now I have to get back into the swing of things. Hopefully I’ll be up and running again soon. ๐Ÿ™‚
I hope all is well with you too and I will catch up with you shortly. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi there and Sorry about that.
I guess it was an older post where the comments are now closed?
Unfortunately, I had trouble with a lot of spam comments a while back, which mostly seemed to be on old posts or photos, so I tightened my settings to no longer allow comments on a post after 30 days.
It solved the problem, but I realise it is frustrating for genuine people such as yourself who wish to comment.
My suggestion is to comment on one of my recent posts and I will always respond.
Once again, I do apologise and I appreciate you taking the time to comment. ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn’t even know that you could do that. It probably was an older one as I was surfing and was looking at some of your ocean pictures. All I really wanted to say was how much I enjoyed them. Beautiful country.

Yes Cape Town is naturally beautiful as it has the sea, mountains and forests, all free to enjoy. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Oh I’m so sorry!
I was sorting thro blogs I follow, as many of them are no longer active – and by mistake – Again! – I hit the wrong thing with my mouse! I instantly re-followed you, hoping that WP would not even notice. . . .

I have decided to follow your blog largely on the basis of the names of your two dogs…genius. I look forward to something a little different. Thanks for the follow on my rather more formulaic blog.

haha Thank you very much for the follow. I don’t know if I’m different, but I just have fun blogging and hopefully my readers do too.
I think you are not alone in being drawn in by my dogs’ names!

I love the sweet face of your dog on your gravatar photo–so cute!

Thanks for following my blog! You brightened my day! I hope if you can find the time that you will stop by my page called โ€œReasons to Smileโ€ and leave a comment. Itโ€™s a list of things people are thankful for, just to encourage each other. Iโ€™d love to hear your thoughts!

We’re all fine thank you – and the fires pretty much under control now ๐Ÿ™‚
They were bad though, but I don’t think much property was lost.
btw – I just tried to visit your site – again – and it says you aren’t there! I don’t know what is going on!

I’m here, I’m here! I’m glad you are all safe. There were some scary pictures. I get all my blogs via my email not my reader, maybe that would help? If that doesn’t work you may have the ask the ‘powers that be’. wah hah hah hah Good luck.

I mentioned the CT fires in my last 2 posts – Forty Degrees and Snakes Alive, but no-one else outside of SA has heard of them. You are the only one ๐Ÿ™‚ So thanks for asking – but all is fine now ๐Ÿ™‚
Don’t worry I will make a plan and make sure I get your posts. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am just behind today as been rather busy.

haha Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ I’d just returned from dog class with Little Monkey, and TJ wanted some attention. He was old and didn’t like other dogs much, so I didn’t take him any more. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hadn’t read this or looked at the picture. Great picture and fun to see everyone up close. ๐Ÿ™‚
Yes, we learn as we go. There is no How To for blogging. I get a little irritated (not the right word) at those blogs that try to tell you how to blog etc. Makes me want to do the exact opposite. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ When I finally stopped trying so hard, I had more fun and wrote twice as much. ๐Ÿ™‚

I couldn’t agree more ๐Ÿ™‚ I blog for fun – if I don’t enjoy what I’m doing – how can I expect anyone else to? I don’t want thousands of followers that it is impossible to keep in contact with. I enjoy my faithful few – and if they move on after a while, then that is fine also ๐Ÿ™‚
Thank you for your visit and comments, always appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s a pleasure ๐Ÿ™‚ That is the wonderful thing about the blogging community being so universal. I get to enjoy snow pictures in the blistering heat, and others can see spring again as their winter approaches. I hope it is not too hard a winter for you this year.
