The cake was too delicious
To leave untasted!
.
Hence the wee nibble before the photo was taken!
There are a few places in Cape Town where you can enjoy spectacular teas.
My niece treated me to High Tea at Table Bay Hotel on the Waterfront.
There was an incredible selection of different teas and delicious mini savoury starters.
Even the Ladies was sumptuous!
There were gild mirrors and vases of proteas on display. You were provided with fresh individual cloth towels, which you disposed of after use down the circular holes you can see in the photo.
To finish there was a large table covered in amazing cakes and single serving desserts, such as tiramisu.
There was even gold leaf on some cakes!
Decadence indeed!
Eyes shut tight against the constant, unrelenting water fall, this orange lion stands his ground.
Watched impassively by a stony-eyed cherub.
Or two.
While we indulge in High Tea.
Mesmerised by the silver cascade.
