Mummy Egyptian Goose and her little family graze on the lush lawns of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
How do I know she’s a Mummy and not a Daddy? Because she’s looking after the kids, while Dad is drinking beer and watching sport on TV!

Having two of this species reside here in the marina, I was looking forward to your being able to tell the difference between Mummy and Daddy! I’ve been told ours are two males, distinguished by their throaty ‘bark’ rather than a charming ‘coo’, and always thought they were ducks, not geese. Seems they are both, a cross between a goose and a duck. If we have chicks here, then I shall be watching the local pub with interest!! 😛

Interesting differentiation. 🙂 Still – wait and check the “pub” theory out 🙂

Maybe I’ll come back later to read if a goose really was found in those tombs. Probably was. 🙂
