I love these little guys, doing their own thing, tide in, tide out!
I think they feed by gathering tiny particles of food on their hairy bodies; then quickly scoot back inside the protection of the central part.
Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, but you know I only have my little 10MP Canon.

Take solace in the fact that you have made my day!! I showed this photo to my daughter yesterday and asked her what it was. She replied without any hesitation – a dianthus!! So, thank you for playing along π They really did look like little worm things to me!!
