Galaxy 10
Sparky the squirrel seemed full of the joys of . . . Autumn!
I captured the little critter scampering above in the canopies of these large trees, while I sat in the shade beneath enjoying my coffee. It was nice of him to provide the entertainment!
He even sunbathed awhile, stretched out on a branch, as comfy to him as any sofa to us.
But living life in the fast lane, he didn’t stay for long.
I caught him just about to leap across a wide open space to the next tree. I love how he gets his eye in and bunches up, coiled like a spring, before bounding into mid-air, propelled by his strong back legs.
He then confidently scampered at speed through an arboreal pathway only he could see. I snapped this last action shot as he leapt away; on to his next adventure.
This is the tenth and final in my series of Galaxy camera phone photos. I feel confident now, that I can take photos in focus (mostly) with my phone. I hope you have enjoyed the series as much as I have in making it.
. Thank you 🙂
Yes, it was funny to watch Sparky doing all these activities – at speed.

Thank you 🙂 Squirrels are amazingly sure-footed, even going face-first down a tree! 🙂

Sparky likes being in the spotlight. Our squirrels don’t stay in one place for one second. If I tried to take pictures of them it would be nothing but grey blurs everywhere. Great shots throughout the “Galaxy Series!”

Thank you so much. 🙂 I’ve enjoyed myself.
Luckily this Sparky hung around for his photo shoot. 🙂

No attic problems, with squirrels?

Thank you 🙂
We did have a squirrel think about our attic again the other day. My husband chased it out with a loud whistle! 😀

That was a beautiful surprise, wasn´t it, dear Scifihammy?! 😀 It is curious how you guys could come across a squirrel in a quite regular basis. I have never seen a squirrel (face to face) in my whole life! 😀 ha!. Well, at least I have blogger friends such as you who might post about their experinces concerning this issue 🙂 wishing you a beautiful weekend ahead. Love! ❤

I rarely saw squirrels either, when I lived in UK. Here in Cape Town, there are often little grey squirrels in my garden. 🙂 They live all around the area; perhaps because there are many pine trees and open (wild) park areas?
I’m sure you have your own wildlife though, quite different to ours. 🙂

Disappointed! I saw “Sparky” and immediately thought of “Sparky’s Magic Piano”! Perhaps before your time… it was almost before mine. I listened to this in the early 1950’s (before TV!), and I just listened to it again. Very emotional time! 🙂

Sorry Colin, but squirrels have always been called Sparky on my blog! 🙂 You’ve been following me a while now, but maybe you’ve missed those older posts?
And I have heard Sparky’s Magic Piano, albeit many years after you. Funny how something “sparks” a memory and off we go on a nostalgic trip. 🙂

It’s mating season for Sparkys here at my house. Scampering and other activities are taking place in abundance here. I just threw out the peanut and sunflower cup-o-food out and now I have 8 Sparkys on the buffet lawn =-)

I love that mad scampering dance they do round and round a tree, chasing each other. It’s wonder they don’t fall!
I’ve never seen 8 all at once tho! 🙂

It always seem funny to me that you are now going into Autumn and we are just hopefully entering Spring, the warm bit of spring, not the wet cold bit 🙂 Sparky has a lovely long tail and you did well to capture him, ours in the garden move way too fast, they just end up a blur 🙂 Yes I would say you have mastered the art of focusing with your phone 🙂

Believe me – it took some getting used to for me, to be living “upside down” – Especially having a very hot Christmas! 🙂
Thank you for your kind words . . . I didn’t publish the shots where Sparky had miraculously disappeared! 😀

Ha ah I never publish those either :). Yes I can imagine it would take quite a while to live ‘upside down’, not sure I would get use to a hot Christmas…..but saying that they are aren’t as cold as they once were, more wet now ……Global warming I suppose.

I have never got used to a hot Christmas – hence my annual ‘sad’ Christmas post! 🙂
It’s not so bad for a cold country to get globally warmed – but it’s awful for us over here, already living in too hot a climate. I can’t wait for what passes for winter here to arrive. 😀

Yes that very true, I hadn’t thought about you getting a lot warmer…..I must admit the when we went to Washington DC, I nearly died it was so hot and humid, I hated it, shame because it is a lovely green city, but we had to leave the next day, I could not breath. So no I will say here is the wet and cold and hope for warmer days 🙂

I also much prefer to be cold than hot and humid, where, as you say, you just cant breathe.
