Sunday Musings #51

Someone to tell it to is one of the fundamental needs of human beings.

– Miles Franklin (1954)

I guess that is why there are so many people on Facebook and Twitter;

why we blog;

and why so many of us have pets, who are always willing to listen –

even if sometimes they have to be bribed with a treat!

I, myself, find that everyone tells me their life story. Perfect strangers will accost me in the supermarket and proceed to gab away like I’m a long lost friend.

I think I have “sucker” written on my forehead!

    Perhaps you are one of those people magnets, who always attract others without trying to. I’ve personally known a few of them.

    People always ask me for directions – I don’t know what that says about me. I’d like to believe that it says I look like I know where I am going, but somehow, as much as I want to believe that to be the case, I think it’s probably something else.

    People are always telling me their woes. I must have sucker on my forehead too. People have tried to turn me into their psychiatrist my whole life. I should be paid for that job. Ha

    People like you are nice to have around.
    I get the same. In the time it took to boil a kettle and make a cup of tea for the office, I had the age, school, family history, qualifications, address, time in the job and amrital status of the engineer doing our PAT testing (portable appliances)

        Aw Thank you so much! 🙂
        There are many old age homes near my supermarket, so I get lots of old people talking to me. I think I may be the only person they speak to that day, so I do try to give them time. It is not much after all. 🙂
